HISTORY OF LA JOLLA FRIENDLY VISITORS

In 2013, La Jolla Meals On Wheels launched the La Jolla Friendly Visitors program under the organization’s umbrella to offer weekly one- to two-hour visits at no charge to seniors or anyone who is homebound in our service area. At the heart of this service is companionship and time spent together which can vary depending on the client’s interests and mobility. Oftentimes, visits are followed up with phone check-ins. Feelings of loneliness and isolation are replaced with a new friendship, hope and a visit to look forward to.
